What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Based at Baker Barracks on Thorney Road in Havant, this motorcycle training provider draws consistent praise for the calm, tailored approach of its instructors, particularly Mark and Steve, who adjust the pace of each course to suit a rider's existing experience. Several reviewers mention travelling considerable distances to train here, coming away with more than a pass certificate and describing genuine improvement in road awareness afterwards.

Clear breakdowns of manoeuvres, honest and encouraging feedback, and a private mock test site on a former runway used for Module 1 practice are mentioned repeatedly, alongside successful first-time passes across CBT, Module 1 and Module 2. Riders with a racing background as well as complete beginners report feeling well prepared, with instructors adapting explanations so nothing feels rushed. The dual instructor setup, with both Mark and Steve described as knowledgeable and patient, reassures those nervous ahead of their test.

Direct access courses completed over three or four days are a theme that recurs, with riders reporting they left with practical skills for real road conditions rather than just test technique. Well-maintained bikes, including a V-twin machine used for testing, are also noted favourably. The centre operates daily except Sunday, with hours running from half past eight until seven in the evening, suiting those fitting training around work.

I done a 3 days DAS Course with M&C Motorcycle Training and it is by far the best facility in the south for motorcycle training. My instructor Steve was professional, efficient and extremely knowledgeable in improving my riding. Coming from a racing background this may appear as an advantage but the reality is, this has its massive disadvantages when riding on the road. We set off to their mock site which is on a previous runway which allowed me the chance to practice for Mod 1 strait away! After some motorcycle handling refining and throttle discipline (grandad mode to me) I was able to pass mock test with ease. He quickly identified habits that could present dramas on the day of testing and reassured me it even though my bike handling was good, its best to dial it down a touch. (Not do 70kph for the emergency stop when the limit is 50kph😂. The suzuki SFV Gladius is a great bike to do your training and test on! On initial appearance, from a sport bike background, I was not initially sold on using the bike. However after 10 minutes of being on the bike, I realised that they are not only maintained to a high standard but they are pleasant bikes to ride. The power delivery is smooth, the balance point of the bike make it extremely easy to handle and the power through the gears is surprisingly punchy when you twist your wrist. Overall a really great bike! Whilst practising for the Mod 2 ( road riding) Steve was calm, reassuring and patient with us. When mistake were made, there was no shift in his attitude or quality of instructing. He makes you feel completely at easy whilst riding so there is no added pressure. Test day, ofcourse is nerve wrecking. At M&C you are fortunate to have passionate instructors who realise and understand how much pressure you put on yourself but they effortlessly take your mind away from the worry and generate a relaxed environment. Consider they your personal mental health reassurance motorsports therapist for free 😂 (figuratively speaking ofcourse, they are just great down to earth people) By time you set off on your test; you are relaxed, ready and confident you have been as best prepared for the task ahead! I highly recommend choosing M&C Motorcycle Training for your CBT and any of your motorcycle licenses. I passed first time even with a 8 year gap in riding bikes!

Would give 6 stars if I could. Just completed DAS course and passed MOD 1 and 2 first time. Excellent instructors across both Steve and Mark. Their wealth of experience supports you become a better rider overall, not just to pass the tests. What makes them so unique is their calmness and patience . If you are nervous and a bit of an over thinker, like me! They will give you all the time of day, and genuinely care. When mistakes are made they are very calming, no shouting or frustration, just clear support and guidance on how to improve in a calm manner. I cannot stress this enough, as you need an instructor that makes you at ease and able to relax and focus without feeling on edge about making mistakes. Thanks Mark and Steve for your teaching! See you out on the road!

No more L plates for me 🏍️ Passed my Direct Access Motorbike tests with M&C. Passed Mod1 and Mod2 both first time, with no minors on either test!! Mark is an absolutely incredible instructor with many years of knowledge. He is genuine, funny, and will support you every step of the way through the course. If you struggle with nervousness before tests like I do, I would highly recommend this company. My confidence grew from my first training day, and I wasn’t even nervous going into the test - I felt ready and prepared for each one, and genuinely looked forward to putting all I had learnt from Mark to the test!! Again - highly highly recommend.

Not a single bad word to say! Dealt with Caroline at the start and she was amazing. Having not ridden in several years, I wanted 'Back to Biking' to get the confidence back and Caroline was very accommodating in getting the dates booked in and even offering a good pep talk which really helped. Fast forward to today, got to the centre at 9 and Mark was ready and waiting. He must be the most patient man on earth! Super encouraging, offering good pointers and constant words of encouragement. It genuinely felt like I was out riding with a friend than a formal instructor and it really helped in how quickly I felt I comfortable back on the bike. Had plenty of laughs throughout the ride (even in a hilarious little accident ha!). 5 hours and 85 odd miles later, my confidence has sky rocketed and can't wait to go look at some bikes this weekend. Thank you M&C! You have been amazing!!
