What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Bryans Motorcycle Training on Stanley Matthews Way attracts consistent praise for turning complete beginners into confident, safe riders. John is named repeatedly as an instructor who explains mistakes calmly and adapts his teaching to each pupil, guiding learners through CBT, direct access training and both practical modules with a methodical, reassuring approach. Kevin, Jim, Trish and David Parker are also mentioned as part of a friendly team that keeps the atmosphere relaxed while staying focused on safety and technique. Several reviewers describe completing intensive direct access courses over roughly a week, combining consecutive days of riding practice with both tests scheduled towards the end, and many note passing with very few faults.

The bikes and equipment are repeatedly described as well maintained, and the training setting is said to feel unhurried and supportive rather than pressured. One pupil travelled almost an hour to attend a week-long course and found the pre-course instructions clear, while former students are noted to drop by during breaks to chat, reflecting an ongoing sense of community around the school. The centre operates most days including Sundays, remaining closed on Thursdays and Saturdays, with sessions generally running from mid-morning into mid-afternoon at the Stoke-on-Trent site.

I went to Bryan’s to do my CBT in June with no experience of riding a motorbike ever. Within 2 months with just the CBT and the DAS I have managed to pass my Mod 1 and Mod 2. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. John was amazing and super helpful with his advice and made sure I was a safe rider and could competently pass. I couldn’t recommend them enough. If I had to choose a place to go again it would definitely be here. Thank you so much

I genuinely can't recommend Bryan's Motorcycle Training enough. They don't just coach you to pass your Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests – they focus on making you a safe, confident, and capable rider for the road ahead. I completed their 6-day intensive course, which included five days of training followed by both tests on day six. When I started, I was a complete novice with only a CBT under my belt. My instructor, John, was outstanding from day one. His patience, knowledge, and calm approach gave me the confidence and skills to improve every day. Thanks to the excellent training, I passed both my Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests on the same day. That speaks volumes about the quality of instruction and the effort the team puts into preparing you properly – not just to pass your tests, but to become a safe rider. A huge thank you to John and everyone at Bryan's Motorcycle Training. If you're thinking about getting your motorcycle licence, I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else.

I highly recommend Bryans to anyone wishing to embark on their riding journey. Everyone there is friendly and understanding, and their training is exceptional. I first had a taster session with owner Kevin last year. I’d never ridden a motorcycle before and was nervous and it took me a while to get the hand of the very basics. A few months after I took my CBT course, and again I was nervous but Kevin’s patience and understanding got me there, it took me a little longer to get my certificate but that was not a problem. I then began my Mod 1 & Mod 2 training this year. I knew I had to take things at my own pace due to chronic health issues, and this was totally listened to and understood. I did my Mod training with Kevin a couple of hours a week, which suited my needs. A year ago I never would have thought that this year I’d be taking my tests on a Triumph Trident 660 and passing them both first time to obtain my full Category A licence! Thank you to Kevin, John and all at Bryans. First class training!

Had a great day doing my CBT with Dave, everything is provided and everyone is really friendly whilst providing professional training. Highly recommended. Update, I have now completed a six day intensive course with John (and Jim), had a great experience and passed mod 1 and mod 2 this week. Can’t speak highly enough of the team, they really care about creating safe riders not just passing the test.

Fantastic for CBT - Jim was an extremely patient, knowledgeable and helpful instructor. Despite initially struggling a lot with the gears in the parking lot, managed to get on the road and meet all the requirements to get safely riding by the end of the day!

Very professional outfit with a first class team of people. My instructor, John, got me through my Mod 1 and Mod 2 this week. His calm and polite manner puts you at ease and let's you settle into the lesson. If you make mistakes he gently explains what needs to change and off you go. Thanks also to Kev, Jim, Trish and all of the people here. Great bikes, good equipment and good cups of tea. If you want to gain your motorcycle license, then this is the place to do it.

Went to Brian's Motorcycle Training to complete my CBT. It was a very friendly environment, and I strongly suggest anyone to go there for their CBT. With me being a novice rider, David Parker was extremely patient with me, explaining everything clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. He demonstrated everything perfectly so that I could get a good understanding. He really helped build my confidence on the bike, especially with things I found challenging, and always stayed calm and supportive. I'm really chuffed with how I did and grateful for the support and guidance I received. I would definitely recommend them to anyone starting out. Big thank you to David.
