Had a great experience with Mac as my instructor. Attempted manual lessons to begin but I decided automatic was a better fit for me. Lessons fit my work schedule and Mac always had a calm and patience presence to make me feel at ease. Passed on my first attempt at Sheildhall. Absolutely would recommend!

I am a licensed automatic driver of 5 years, and wanted to learn manual to be safe to drive in the UK. I hoped that my instructor would treat me as an intermediate driver, but often times during my lessons, I was treated like a beginner. I felt during my lessons we could’ve progressed quicker and used our time more efficiently, especially with the cost of their lessons being so high. Unfortunately I needed to move flats a month before my test, and Mac could no longer cover my area, so he referred me to his partner, Wasim. After a lesson, Wasim said I needed 5 intensive lessons before my test. Intensive lessons were expensive, and I asked if we could do regular lessons, and Wasim didn’t respond. This was stressful, because with the wait times being so long, I was scared of losing my test date, when I felt ready to take it. I managed to find another driving instructor a week before my test, who gave me 3 non-intensive lessons for a more affordable cost, and I ended up passing with 4 minors. I wish I could have given M&M a better review, since most seem to have good experiences, but having had different kinds of driving lessons, and having driven for a good amount of time, I felt it was important to share my experience, as it was not up to the standard of the existing reviews.

I passed my driving test on my first attempt in an automatic car in Shieldhall Driving Centre today. I would highly recommend Mac as a driving instructor. He is a great teacher and friend. He always gave good feedback and advice during the lessons, which helped me to improve my driving. I have never felt pressured and stressed when I drive on more challenging roads with Mac because he is very patient and is good at explaining how to judge the road. I usually felt upset and guilty when I repeated the same mistakes. However, Mac was supportive and always reminded me it was all a learning process. Mac is a lovely person. I will miss our lessons and conversations about sport, history and medicine, and questions from Mac about my university course. Doing a lot of driving on the challenging roads with Mac helped me to improve my confidence and judgement of the road. He was very good at explaining complicated roundabouts and junctions in the area. Mac was flexible with my busy schedule and always on time for our lessons. On the day of the test, Mac went over with me all the Show Me and Tell Me questions, some roundabouts and manoeuvres, which was good to refresh my knowledge. Mac taught me not just how to pass a driving test in a challenging area, but also how to be a safe driver and believe in myself. I promise to people who want to start learning to drive, that you will not regret choosing MM driving school. Thank you Mac for everything !

I would highly recommend mm driving school! I passed my test first time! Originally, I started learning in automatic but then I decided to switch to manual a few months before the test, this was no problem. He was patient and explained manoeuvres carefully in a way that was easy to understand. I liked that he was very relaxed, which helped with my confidence a lot. We practiced the manoeuvres that I needed extra time with more, which meant that when it came to the test I felt more confident with them. He was also great at helping to make sure my lessons fit around my busy schedule. We were able to sort out lessons at a time that worked for me, which I also really appreciated. Overall, I had a great experience doing lessons and have already recommended mm driving school to some friends and family in the area. Thanks :)
