What a gent of a man Mike is! His experience, his knowledge and his experience is next to none. Having never rode a bike before to passing my full bike license within 4 lessons. Mike is thorough and by the book but you will appreciate every second of it when you start riding!

My lad wanted his A2 license, so I thought why don't I try too for my A licence. We both booked on with Mike after searching for a great school- we were not disappointed and we certainly made the right choice. Mike's reviews speak for themselves and I whole heartedly agree. It certainly wasn't the closest school as we are both from Doncaster ( it's worth going a distance for the right training ) We both had a taster session on a 600 & 500 on his newly tarmac and road lane painted compound and didn't hesitate to sign up for the full course. We both completed the CBT on the " big " bikes ( none of the 125cc nonsense ) Mike arranged a full day of practice at Wakefield DVLA mod 1 site for our group. We both passed our mod 1 and mod 2 tests in just over two months. Mike is such a lovely guy that if you do drop a bike onto the ground, he is more concerned with the rider than the machine - no shouting, no swearing & definitely no course cancellation because you had an accident. He even buys you bacon butties from the nearby cafe. I highly recommend Mike's school to anyone that has zero experience or to anyone that is familiar with a bike. Not sure where to start but here goes, I decided to go for my bike licence so I could go out riding with my daughter who has her A licence. We recently did a trip to Portugal and hired bikes, me a 125cc because that was all I could ride on my car licence, and her on a 600cc Honda, not ideal as she had to keep stopping and waiting for me to catch up.. I did quite a few internet searches, and found plenty of trainers out there but I kept coming back to MB Motorcycle training due to the vast amount of positive reviews, and they were not wrong. I started with the ' try a big bike' first and was very impressed with the bikes but more so with Mike's attention to instruction and detail. After a faultless morning I asked Mike if he could put a Direct access scheme together for me as I would need to get dates OK'd by my employer. Mike took the time and trouble to come up with a course that was agreed with my employer and it was off I go. Just a little bit of background, before Portugal the last time I rode a motorbike was 45 years ago, which I did explain to Mike, and it was only a 100cc. None the less I started training with Mike and from the very start I was made to feel very comfortable with the ' big ' bike and also Mike's instruction. Mike is very good at confidence building and explanations as to how and why things were done the way they were and it was a dream. I booked my theory test, which I passed and then took first ride out with Mike on the 1St June ( 2026 ). This was to be my CBT as Mike insisted I showed confidence and ability to complete. When looking at the schedule set, I didn't think it possible due to the short timeframe Mike had given me but blimey, was I wrong. Mike is a very understanding , but very informative trainer and he made sure I came on in leaps and bounds. I had multiple lessons in the wet, which would have put most people off riding a bike but with those encouraging words in your ear over the radio it made it more pleasurable than it should have been. We did a days training in Wakefield for Mod 1, again in the wet, but confidence and instruction was high. I finally took my Mod 1 on the 18/06/26 and then my Mod 2 on the 22/06/26 and i am very pleased to say I passed both first time. This was all down to Mikes understanding, instruction and belief in my ability. I would recommend anyone looking to train for your bike licence to give Mike a call and just have the conversation with him. Yes there are other trainers out there, but Mike gives it that personal touch. 22 days from start to finish says it all. A very big thank you to Mike and I will certainly remember this when we are both riding 'big ' bikes next year as me and my daughter are doing the Portugal trip again. Thank you Derek Aylward

I found Mike via a google search as I wanted to do my full bike licence. I went for a introductory session first and found he suited my needs. We soon got the cbt out of the way, I booked the theory and passed that first time, I got booked in for mod 1 soon after and passed that, same with the mod2. Mike trains you to 120% when actually the examiner is only looking for around 85%. My mod2 will definitely go down as one to remember for both myself and the examiner, the bike ran out of fuel 600 yards from the test centre on the way back. Overall I cant thank Mike enough for getting me though it as I had alot of bad habits with riding motocross for the last 20 years. Thank you again and ill be recommending you to other people.

Can’t recommend Mike enough. Looked around at reviews for the area and found Mike with not a single bad comment. I travelled from the other side of Doncaster (about 45 minutes) and it was definitely worth the trip. Passed my CBT, mod 1 and mod 2 in just over 2 months with no prior experience. Definitely would recommend for anyone even without ever touching a bike.

I have recently passed my motorcycle test with Mike and I honestly cannot recommend him enough. From the very beginning of my training he has treated me with patience and fairness all through to the passing of my mod 2 test. What sets Mike apart is that he doesn’t just teach you how to pass a test, he teaches you how to ride confidently and safely on the road. He takes the time to break down everything he asks of you and ensures that you develop every skill required for competent riding. Mike has taken me from somebody who had never been on a road to somebody who regularly rides day in and day out. He has never once given up on me and is someone who genuinely cares about every single bit of progress you make in your training. For anyone who is considering learning to ride a motorbike, I couldn’t recommend Mike enough. You are learning from somebody who will make you into the best rider you can possibly be. I can’t thank you enough for all your patience and support Mike, it has meant the world to me.

Brilliant bloke to have training you, I had another school just round the corner but decided to give Mike a go based on his Google reviews and some 10+ year old forums posts. Very happy I did, passed both Mod 1 & Mod 2 first try, Mod 2 with a full clean sheet. The examiner even said Mike will teach you 110% of what you need to know and we only rest you on 85% of it. Very flexible and will bend over backwards to get you where you need to be. Thanks again Mike.
