About the company

Moto Training NI is a motorcycle training school in Northern Ireland. It has been awarded Motor Cycle Industry Association accreditation and is the only school in Northern Ireland and the whole of Ireland to have achieved this accreditation. It is also the only school in the province approved by a major motorcycle manufacturer. Training is offered in the greater Belfast area and throughout County Antrim, with the main base in Broughshane.

Courses are tailored to the individual rider. Over 90% of business comes from personal recommendation. The fleet of motorcycles is constantly updated, and each motorcycle is maintained regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation; students may inspect the maintenance records. It provides motorcycle and scooter training.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Moto Training NI operates from Buckna Road in Broughshane, near Ballymena, offering CBT, the two practical motorcycle test modules, back-to-riding refresher sessions and advanced riding courses. Something mentioned time and again is the calm, patient manner of the instructing team, with Stephen, Ron, Trevor and Caroline all named repeatedly for their clear guidance towards beginners and returning riders alike.

Several accounts describe sessions built around one rider at a time, paced to individual ability, with encouraging feedback and follow-up messages sent after lessons. The off-road practice area and base are mentioned as well suited to building confidence before the off-road module, and the bikes are consistently described as kept in good condition. Organisation from initial booking through to test day is noted as smooth, with Stephen frequently credited for arranging sessions and keeping riders updated.

Riders who had ridden with other trainers before switching here describe a more reassuring approach, with tuition tailored to their particular needs and pace. Those moving from a first taste of riding through to a full licence describe the whole journey as enjoyable rather than stressful, helped by a friendly, sociable atmosphere running alongside the technical coaching. Weekday sessions run from 10am to 6pm, with the school closed at weekends.

Every instructor was friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about helping people become safe, confident riders. They explained everything clearly, their feedback was very helpful at each stage, and it was all very enjoyable! Thank you to each instructor I came across, I passed my CBT and category A tests thanks to them. If you're thinking about getting your motorcycle licence, I recommend going with Moto Training NI

I got my CBT last week with Moto training NI. Stephen got me booked in and sent me all the info I needed. (The video was great and had helpful tips about kit as well). Ron took me out for my CBT. It was brilliant, felt very safe and Ron gave great instruction and tips for balance and clutch control etc. Very pleased with the experience and will be back soon, after I get my theory sorted, for a full license.

From never having sat on a motorbike before, I did my CBT, MOD1 and MOD2 with Moto Training NI - Great experience all the way through, and everything is very professional but good fun too. Stephen was great and easy to deal with organising lessons and tests. I had instruction from Caroline, Ronnie and Trevor, all of whom were excellent and made the whole process enjoyable and great craic - I can't recommend them enough to anyone looking to learn.
