Did all my mod 1 and mod 2 training at kingstanding with 'Phil' Phil is very experienced and helped me at every step to achieve my full motorbike unrestricted license... If it wasn't for Phil i honestly think i would still be contemplating taking my mod 1. Learned alot from him in the mod 1 and mod 2 and passed....really chuffed. Thanks phil and everyone else at riders!!

I booked a manual bike CBT session with Riders, and it was a complete waste of time and money. During my first session, the manual Yamaha bike I was using broke down with around an hour of the session remaining. Even before it failed, the gearbox was in terrible condition, and the instructor was struggling with it too. It was obvious the bike had not been properly maintained. I was then given an automatic bike to continue on. At the end of the session, the instructor told me to come back for more practice. As a beginner, I accepted that I needed more time and had no issue with that. However, I had to pay for another session. When I returned for my second session, things got even worse. This time, the Honda bike I was assigned also broke down. The only replacement they could offer was the same Yamaha that had already broken down during my first session. Learning to ride a motorcycle is challenging enough without having to deal with faulty bikes. To make matters worse, they had no other bikes available because another Honda had broken down the day before. This clearly shows a pattern of poor maintenance. Because of the bike issues, my session ended at 11am instead of running until around 3–4pm as scheduled. I was told to call the centre to arrange another session. When I called, I was told they needed feedback from the instructor before they could make a decision and that someone would call me back. No one did. I called again the following day, only to be told that without the instructor's feedback, I would have to pay for yet another session. If I were to do that, I would have spent nearly £500 just to complete my CBT. In my experience, Riders seem far more interested in taking your money than maintaining their bikes or providing a quality learning experience. I may not have been the most naturally talented learner, but I paid to be taught—not to struggle with unsafe, poorly maintained motorcycles that repeatedly broke down, and to receive attitude from the people at the center.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! This is ran out of a storage container next to a community centre. When I arrived the instructor asked if I wanted to do it on an automatic. I said no, but he seemed keen for me to do it on one. After I insisted I wanted to learn gears he then went and swapped the bikes. I needed to borrow a jacket. I was given one with the elbow armour in pieces. I was then given another jacket. The classroom training was okay. Then shown around the bikes, and we then had to push the bikes over a field into a church car park. The car park was on a slight gradient, and the surface wasn’t the best, loose in places.. Then there was the bike. I really struggled with it. The front brake was sharp, the bike struggled to go into first gear, and the throttle was too sensitive. It was a nightmare. It spluttered and struggled when on tick over. The junctions with cones left not enough room for run off after doing the turns and they were smaller than a normal junction. “If you can do that, you can do anything,” seemed to be the attitude. “Use the slow riding technique,” which is all well and good but difficult when the throttle is all over the place. You have until 11:30am to be ready for the road ride so you get about two and a half to three hours to master slow riding, u-turns, figure of eights, emergency stopping, and junctions which is a big ask for someone completely new to it. I was struggling with the bike, and I wasn’t confident. The instructor said neither I nor the other learner were ready so we’d just practice junctions and figure of eights until 2pm. At the end of the session, I was told that if we’d been on the automatic we’d have done the road ride. As if it was our fault for choosing geared bikes. I’d need to book and pay for another cbt. Now my confidence took a hit, and I questioned whether my experience was just me, or if my concerns with the bike were well founded. Having now completed my cbt with Staffs Rider Training, I can categorically say that it was the bike, and the instruction at Riders that weren’t up to the job. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the instructor was trying to convince me to go on an automatic because of how crap the bikes were. With Staffs Rider Training you have the same bike, but it’ll be well maintained; the pad you learn on is bigger, without a gradient, and a better road surface; the instructor goes through a maintenance session with you (Riders didn’t); and you have a much longer day, going out on the road at about 2pm rather than finishing at that time like with Riders. And if you don’t go out on the road on your first cbt, that time is in the bank for when you do some additional training. Avoid Riders like the plague. Travel a few miles out to Tamworth for Staffs Rider Training. You’ll be glad you did. I did complain to Riders, not even the courtesy of a response.

Just completed my CBT yesterday, what an experience. Christopher and Philip were great, so much patience, never once got frustrated with us,even though i was with myself at the start. I could of done my CBT locally, but decided to drive 55 miles to do it here,as my friend recommended it, we both passed which is brilliant too. I will 100% come back here to do my Module 1 and 2,keep up the good work guys! :) Manni

I recently completed my CBT with Rider Andi and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, Andi was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, making the whole day feel personal rather than just another training session. What really stood out was the amount of effort put into helping students improve properly. Andi didn’t just teach the basics to pass the CBT — he focused on building good riding habits from day one and made sure bad habits were corrected immediately. The tips and advice given for progressing onto DAS were extremely helpful and gave me a lot more confidence for my next step. The training was very well organised, safe, and structured, while still feeling relaxed and welcoming. Andi took the time to actually get to know each student and made sure everyone was comfortable, confident, and performing to the best of their ability before moving on. You can tell there’s genuine care and passion behind the training. I never expected such a high level of service and personalisation from a riding school. Because of this experience, I’ll definitely be doing my DAS with them soon. Highly recommended to anyone looking for quality motorcycle training with an instructor who truly cares.
