5.0 / 5 · 369 totalI did my pre CBT and CBT with Gaz at Hen and Chickens. Both sessions were informative and fun. He answered every question I had aswell as helping me with mistakes I didn’t even know I was making. Bikes that were used were fantastic. Would highly recommend.
I have had such a great experience with Gaz at Almaxx! I was a bag of nerves my first pre-CBT lesson two months back. Amazed to say I passed my CBT today with minimal issues - and for that I cannot thank Gaz enough for the patience, friendliness, and calm approach throughout my training and test! He’s definitely helped a lot to boost my confidence on a scooter and on roads 😊 Honestly such a welcoming place with very experienced trainers - glad I picked here and I would recommend it to anyone!
Excellent rider training with Gaz… I honestly can’t recommend enough. I recently completed my CBT & a pre-CBT day here (for the second time) after booking through Alex. Even in torrential rain, Gaz made the whole day fun, enjoyable & relaxed rather than feeling like a test, which really helped build confidence, especially after a poor experience elsewhere. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable & excellent at explaining every aspect of the bike in a way that was easy to understand as an amateur . Nothing felt rushed or pressured & he created a really supportive learning environment throughout the day. I genuinely wouldn’t go anywhere else for rider training, thank you ✨
I did my CBT with Stu and another learner on 17th June. I drove to the centre and found it easily. The welcome was great and we were put at ease straight away by Alex and Stu. Once our documentation was checked and some basic safety protocols were covered we started the course with an overview of Highway Code questions/questions our our experience levels/basic advice. Stu is a veteran biker, he is a goldmine of knowledge and experience and as a car driver of 30 years plus, I was embarrassed by my lack of knowledge of some of the questions (as I expect 75% or more people are). Following that we did an hour or so in the small adjacent paddock on the bikes (which are in good used condition) to assess our skills to ensure we would be safe out on the road. I have some experience but was a bit nervous- Stu's emphasis on staying relaxed and calm was really reassuring and set the tone for our road practice, which we did after eating our lunch (make sure you bring one as no shops near there). We then did our road session- having done a CBT ten or more years ago at a now closed south Liverpool centre, I was surprised at how long we were out for (2 hours absolute minimum) and how far we went. This was fantastic and exactly what I and the other learner needed. We had some awful road users to deal with and 2 minor incidents as a result but Stu's prep talk ensured that we didn't let it bother us. We did U turns and emergency stops which went well (eventually, thanks Stu 😉) and we both passed which was fantastic! I really could not recommend Stu and the whole team highly enough. If you are less confident with your level, there are pre-CBT sessions available too- speak to the experts as they'll be able to assess over the phone what will be best for you. Thank you so much guys and Stu, have a great break, vaya con Dios amigo! B
I recently completed my CBT and had Gaz as my trainer. He was very professional, patient, and helpful throughout the whole day. He answered every question clearly and made everything easy to understand without hesitation. A really good man and a great instructor — highly recommend!
I had a bad experience at a previous training school. I opted for the pre-CBT and was trained by Gaz. I wasn’t confident I could even move off and ride in a straight line. Gaz had me moving off, cornering right and left, doing slaloms, figure 8s and slow control in under 2 hours. I was over the moon and my confidence has been boosted. I’ll be booking my CBT soon. There’s a reason H&C is the longest running bike school in Merseyside. I can’t recommend the school highly enough, and Gaz is clearly a master of his art and born to train. It was great to meet Alex too and see his amazing bikes. UPDATE: I passed my CBT no issues with Gaz at this superb, professional and hugely supportive training school. Gaz really is an exceptional instructor and ensures you learn but also have fun and don’t dwell on any wobbles you have as a new rider. If you’re thinking about going for your CBT, Hen and Chicken is an absolute must. I can also recommend their pre-CBT course to prepare you for the day, it makes such a difference. Looking forward to my mod 1 and 2 training soon! Dan T
Went for a pre CBT and CBT. Made to feel very welcomed on both visits. Gaz and Stu were excellent at being understanding, calm and explaining what was to be done and why. Worked in our own time and they made sure we were all happy before moving on to the next part. A big thank you to both of you as it helped me to successfully pass the CBT.👍🏼
