Fly High Driving Academy

Fly High Driving Academy is a driving school based in Ipswich that offers in-car courses and an online video course. The academy exclusively provides a professional solution integrating online driving video course preparation, in-car assessment and troubleshooting training days, and follow-on in-car intensive driving courses. The Complete Learner Driver Video Course Package is designed to improve knowledge and understanding of the Practical Driving Test Standard before getting behind the wheel, and includes 81 videos with 37 hours of footage plus supporting materials covering the UK manual or automatic practical driving test.

The video and learning resources are delivered via a streamed learning platform. A bonus UK Practical Driving Test Readiness Quiz is included within the package. The initial assessment day facilitates formulation of a considered intensive or semi-intensive follow-on driving course plan, and the assessment/troubleshooting training day identifies fundamental driving requirements and addresses them within the time constraints of the day.

The recommended follow-on in-car practical driving course varies from four full days upwards depending on previous driving experience and demonstrated practical driving knowledge, understanding, road awareness and driving skill. The most effective delivery is the intensive course option over consecutive days; the less effective delivery is the semi-intensive course option of at least one full day per week, which requires more course days. The academy serves learners in and around Ipswich.

Passing the driving test at the first attempt is the achievement that recurs most often in feedback for this Ipswich driving academy, and the instructor, Alan Hayward, is consistently named as the reason. His teaching is described as methodical, precise and rigorous, with pupils held to high standards while being given patient and persistent support towards the test. Several customers describe passing on their initial attempt after intensive driving tuition, and a point made in several accounts is the clarity of the strategies taught for dealing with a wide range of road situations.

Reviewers often mention the video courses offered alongside lessons, describing them as a valuable aid to learning and revision, and one account notes that confidence damaged by earlier instruction elsewhere was restored. The advice given also dispels myths carried over from previous instructors, and the pass plus course, including motorway practice, is singled out as beneficial. Preparation is said to extend beyond the test itself, leaving drivers better equipped for motorway driving, and the patience shown to those who find the process difficult is highlighted as a further strength of Alan's teaching.
