4.9 / 5 · 81 totalBooked my CBT day based on a personal recommendation, and general reputation. I got very lucky as I was the only learner on the day and basically got one-to-one tuition from Barry, who is extremely knowledgeable and a fantastic coach. With his guidance, I felt very comfortable on two wheels pretty quickly, but sent away from the day with some strengths/weaknesses and things to work on to become a better rider and work towards the full licence. He also indicated a route to passing the relevant tests, and I will be coming back for some more training along my biking journey - there is no substitute for guidance from experienced professionals. I have been driving for 40 years, which helps. If you are a teenager, and completely new to the road, do yourself a favour and get the DVSA Learning to Ride Guide and read it thoroughly, along with a copy of The Highway Code, before you take your CBT. Also, sit in the passenger seat next to Mum/Dad and get them to 'think aloud' as they drive - it might help with 'road sense'!
After being less than satisfied with the original school we went with for our cbt, me and my brother in law decided to go with a2b after seeing posts on Facebook. The first school we went with seemed to be bumbling us through just to pass where Alex and Barry made us feel very welcome and had the attitude that we were going to learn how to ride safely first of all and not just to pass a test. We has the same instructor all the way through, a brilliant fella called Mark, which aloud us to build a rapour with him and left us feeling at ease, which in turn allowed our confidence to go as our tution progressed. We both passed mod1, mod2 the 1st time with two 3hrs sessions and one full day session. Even if you have to make a bit of a journey to get to them (as we did, from Halifax to Church Fenton) it is definatly worth the extra effort to get there, for the friendly, knowledgeable, professionalism displayed by the team. Thank you Alex, Barry and the team!!
Really good bike training, trainers were great. Got me passed mod 1 and 2 first time. Great set up. Good bikes to learn on. Thanks
From my CBT to my Mod 2 and all in between, the team are absolutely fantastic the give you good clear instructions , they make you feel at ease very easy and talk to as a human. I would recommend anyone who is considering taking their bike test to go with the team at A2B. My partner and my son are going to A2B for their motorbike training into next year . I will certainly be calling into see them even though I have passed now just to have a catch up and a chat . Thanks to the team for the time I had with you all , all your training definitely paid off for me . Ps get well soon Baz 😊 Dom Bower
After completing my CBT + DAS with A2B I want to start by saying you will NOT regret choosing A2B as your riding school. EVERY instructor I’ve had isn’t just there to teach you, but you feel they want you to genuinely succeed with enthusiasm in your learning bundled with kindness/friendliness and attention to detail. It felt like I was being taught by a friend every time, their knowledge, experience, and overall demeanour make it some of the most memorable experiences & fun of my life. My License Journey / Long Review In Dec 24 I booked for my CBT, but unfortunately I left (on my own decision) after a hour, as I was just too nervous/anxious and didn’t believe in myself. Shortly after A2B’s Instructor contacted me to reassure me and offer 2 x 3hr 1-2-1 sessions over two days so it wouldn’t be all on one day, which I scheduled in, and listening to what I thought would suit me learning best - I got my CBT shortly after when I felt ready to reattempt! My CBT instructor was Phil and he is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met and I’ll be eternally grateful for his patience, time, and teaching in beginning my journey but more importantly believing in me and making me believe in myself. After 5-6 months on a 125, I decided to go for my DAS - Chris, Mark, and Baz are also ALL absolutely wonderful and I had so much fun riding and being taught with all of them throughout training. They took the time to ask what I wasn’t feeling confident with during each stage to make sure I nailed the specifics that were making me anxious, giving ample constructive feedback and showing me how to change what I was doing to make it perfect. They explain and guide you through everything from start to finish to give you the knowledge and then experience riding with feedback to give you the most optimal chance to have you pass first time - there really is no question too big or small. I passed both DAS tests first time with 0 minors! A2B genuinely care about your time & experience with them from when you talk to Alex when you first call, to the actual training. You get the feeling they want people to experience the freedom of Biking and enjoy their time learning to do so. After hearing my experience there are people within my riding group who are also now choosing A2B for their DAS and YOU SHOULD TOO! Thank you so much to everyone at A2B <3
I contacted A2B to carry out to gain my direct access and from start to finish they were fantastic. I carried out my CBT at the Church Fenton site along with training for my MOD 1 and MOD 2. I successfully passed both MOD 1 and MOD 2 first time and alot of this was down to the training and guidance received. From booking with Alex to riding with the guy's training it is a brilliant set up and they are great people. I would recommend A2B to anyone looking to get training.
This is a highly organised motorbike driving school with excellent driving instructors. I really appreciated that they will tailor the course to you and let you decide how many hours you require to pass your test. Big thank you to Alex and the entire team as I passed my full test first time this morning :D
