90-ONE Rider Education

90-ONE Rider Education is a motorcycle training provider based in Milton Keynes that has been operating since 1992. It is a Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency approved motorcycle rider training school. Training is offered from Compulsory Basic Training through to the Direct Access Scheme and beyond. The organisation devised the Take Control rider training programme and ran it for four years.

Four county councils use the Take Control programme to reduce motorcycle casualties, with funding from the Department for Transport. 90-ONE Education has received two Prince Michael of Kent International Road Safety Awards. It also operates a Motor Vehicle Studies programme for schools, an Off-Road School for all age ranges, and courses for youth groups.

Training centred on CBT sessions and motorcycle test preparation is offered from the Heelands site in Milton Keynes, with instructors described by some as patient and effective at building awareness of road dangers among new riders. Bike hire for the Mod 2 test is mentioned as a service available locally, with reasonable pricing noted alongside the convenience of not needing to look elsewhere in the area. One family reports repeated positive CBT experiences over several visits, including licence renewals handled smoothly each time. Other accounts, however, describe a poorly maintained machine and instruction felt to be vague or unclear, with the practice area considered too small for comfortable riding.

Communication issues are also raised more than once, with difficulty securing appointments and reports of promised callbacks not materialising, leaving some feeling their time had been wasted. These recurring concerns sit alongside the positive CBT feedback, producing a mixed overall impression of the training on offer. Sessions run daily from early morning into the evening, from eight until nine, giving flexibility for those looking to book CBT training, renewals, or arrange bike hire for testing purposes at the Heelands Rangers sports field location in Milton Keynes.
